Our People
Successful procurement is built on relationships.
At Global Trading Point, you'll work with experienced professionals who take the time to understand your business, your priorities and your long-term objectives. We believe direct communication, personal accountability and thoughtful advice build stronger partnerships than transactions alone.
Our leadership team brings together expertise in international trade, finance, procurement, international sourcing, marketing, customer engagement and operational management. This breadth of experience allows us to understand not only products and supply chains, but also the commercial objectives and long-term ambitions of the businesses we serve.

Commercial Strategy, Procurement & Client Relationships
Romesh founded Global Trading Point with a simple belief: lasting business relationships are built on trust, sound commercial judgement and consistently honouring commitments.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA) and a Mathematics graduate of King's College London, Romesh combines analytical thinking with more than two decades of international trade and procurement experience. He works closely with clients to understand their commercial objectives, evaluate sourcing opportunities and develop procurement strategies that create lasting value.
Clients value Romesh not only for his commercial expertise, but also for his measured approach, integrity and genuine commitment to building long-term partnerships. His objective is never simply to complete a transaction, but to become a trusted advisor whose judgement clients can rely upon.
“The strongest business relationships are built when everyone benefits.”
— Romesh de Silva

Strategic Development, Marketing & Relationship Assurance
Sepali contributes to GTPL's strategic development, marketing and relationship assurance, supporting key client partnerships where long-term confidence and trust are especially important.
A BA Honours graduate of the University of Colombo with a postgraduate diploma in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore, Sepali brings a strong background in communication, international sourcing and customer understanding.
As part of GTPL's growth, she led the development of Chapters Bookstore, a subsidiary of Global Trading Point, building relationships with leading international publishing houses and creating one of Sri Lanka's most respected independent bookstores. That experience reinforced her belief that successful business relationships are built through trust, thoughtful advice and a genuine understanding of each client's needs.
Today, she brings that same philosophy to GTPL, helping strengthen the relationships that underpin lasting business partnerships.

Head of Operations
Once a sourcing project moves into execution, Steve becomes your principal point of contact for operational coordination.
Steve brings extensive experience from an international banking career, including responsibility for trade-related operations in the Middle East. His background in banking operations has given him a disciplined understanding of documentation, process management and the careful coordination required to support international trade.
Working closely with clients, manufacturing and supply partners, freight partners and logistics providers, Steve oversees the day-to-day progress of sourcing projects from procurement through to shipment.
While Romesh leads client relationships and procurement strategy, Sepali supports strategic development and long-term relationship assurance, and Steve ensures each sourcing project is executed with professionalism, care and attention to detail.
Together, we combine strategic leadership with dependable operational support to provide something increasingly valuable in international procurement: experienced people who remain accessible, accountable and committed to your success.
